They only care when they are losing money which by then it is usually too late. I really am shocked that Top Level Management misses these things, but they probably don't care if the company is profitable. However, most departments/admins don't talk to e/o and this information is always missed which ends up in companies having multiple ways of doing things, nothing is uniform, the data can't be centralized/shared as easy and creating PDFs looks different in every SOP document that requires creating a PDF. If it is a big enough request, we would probably get our in house developers to come up with a solution. Either we have an in house solution that the other admin/manger didn't know about or we pay for a service that the other admin/manger didn't know about. The ones that DO need it are making their own forms, which in my opinion they shouldn't be doing unless it has been approved by a business unit owner and before the BUO would approve something like that, they would find out what another department is doing to create forms.

When I worked in HD, I would ask the boss why does their department need pro? I don't have an issue providing a copy of pro, but sometimes they think they need it when they simply don't know that the free version does what they want. Maybe this is simple for someone that is using linux daily or has been using it for a long time, but I quickly put windows 10 back on the computer I was using and installed tightVNC.įrom an end user perspective, I would happily support users in a windows environment vs a linux environment if I had to pick one over the other. All the linux instructions required some special version of VNC then I had to modify a file to add my password, etc.
I read many blog posts, followed tutorials but nothing was a simple as it is in windows, download tightVNC, install, set password, done.
I installed a linux desktop OS and could not get VNC working to save my life.
What I want to add is that not everything in linux is easy, at least it wasn't for me. I'm not here to argue with you, I get the adobe thing. I use linux servers for many things and I've used linux desktop for a few things as well.
